Visual arts exhibition by a well-known artist from Botosani at the Ștefan Luchian Art Galleries

The 55-year-old artist Liviu Soptelea hosts an exhibition of over 50 works of painting, graphics and assembly, made in various stages of creation, since 1981, being part of various series of exhibition projects. Liviu Șoptelea is an innovative spirit, an artist for whom important is not only the form and chromaticity of the work, but especially the way he manages to transfigure everyday reality in order to be able to transmit to others the depth of his artistic belief. In this sense, he approaches and brilliantly combines traditional techniques with modern ones, both in the realization of his works and in the arrangement of the exhibition environment.

The angels from the “covidian era” have an introspective and retrospective “dialogue” with the states and emotions in which the artist creates and recreates his daily reality, certain coordinates of the existence of a creator of beauty well anchored in the contemporary Romanian plastic art.

The artist confesses that "images are extracted from everyday life, metamorphosed poetically and signals the need for experiment, evolution to conceptual, changes the way we configure a reality using the symbol". Thus, reality is subject to transformations that dispute the mystery through the prism of states marked by the flight of angels, suffering, duplicity, dialogue or thoughts.

Inspired by everyday life having as main subject the religion and the Covid-19 virus that corrupted our world, Liviu knew perfectly how to combine feelings and moments so as to create twelve beautiful paintings - all with a deep meaning. The following measures predominate in his works 80 x 60 cm, 70 x 70 cm, 100 x 80 cm. The titles are in the following order described by him in the calendar 2021: January - traveling angels, February - fallen angel, March - annunciation, April - The Holy Trinity, May - 3 shadows of an angel, June - siamese angels, July - dialog, August - angel with wheels, September - fisheye, October - flight from the covidian era, November - about the angel and the departure, and finally, December - leaving the heart.
